Our Mission
To provide a faith-based environment promoting spiritual growth, academic achievement, health and community service
Our Vision
To be the high school of choice in west central Illinois
Our Values
We believe personal growth happens at the intersection of faith, learning, health and service to others.
Faith
“Science can purify religion from error and superstition; religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes. Each can draw the other into a wider world in which both can flourish.”
– Pope St. John Paul II
We emphasize spiritual growth with regular mass attendance and theology courses all four years.
Academics
“Catholic education aims not only to communicate facts, but also to transmit a coherent, comprehensive vision of life, in the conviction that the truths contained in that vision liberate students in the most profound meaning of human freedom.”
– Pope St. John Paul II
Small class sizes allow faculty to mentor and support each student and get to know them on a personal level; and dual-credit and AP courses allow students access to college-level classes in high school.
Health
“Sport is not only a form of entertainment, but also — and above all I would say — a tool to communicate values that promote the good that is in humans and help build a more peaceful and fraternal society.”
– Pope Francis
Our athletics program allows students to pursue their interests in sports and students may also join our competitive Scholastic Bowl team, or participate in clubs such as student government, Crochet Club and Book Club. Students may also choose to participate in choir, drama and band.
We recognize that good physical health is one piece of the whole. Members of our administration and faculty have received training through national programs that support mental and emotional health and wellbeing of young people.
Service
“All knowledge is sterile which does not lead to action and end in charity.”
– Cardinal Desire Joseph Mercier
Service to others helps our students build lives of purpose. Each year, Routt students do a combined 2,700 hours of community service.
